The Regional Institute for Sports Medicine and Engineering (IRMIS) is a benchmark platform for biomechanical engineering applied to sports medicine, injury prevention and performance optimisation. Its teams include researchers in biomechanics, physiology, artificial intelligence and materials science, as well as doctors from Saint-Étienne University Hospital.

Equipped with cutting-edge technical platforms (movement analysis, physiological tests, connected devices), IRMIS works with Medtech companies to prototype and evaluate innovative solutions:

- Rehabilitation devices
- Etc.
Top athletes and patients regularly take part in the trials, under real-life conditions.
