The Campus is home to a number of recognised training bodies, including the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. A wide range of training courses are available to suit all profiles: young people, jobseekers, employees undergoing retraining or upgrading their skills.
The aim is to provide training in the strategic digital skills sought by local businesses in a wide range of fields: cyber security, AI, performance management, programming, risk management in industry…


L’Usine : a full-scale technological demonstrator
At the heart of the Campus, L’Usine is a 2,000 m² space dedicated to industrial experimentation and technological innovation around 3 technological platforms (DIWII, SURFAB, SWARM).
It makes it possible to :
- Test Industry 4.0 solutions in real-life conditions
- Accelerate the prototyping and uptake of new technologies
- Access state-of-the-art equipment (digital twins, robotics, automation, etc.)

DIWII – Platform for the industry of Futur
A factory-school supported by Mines Saint-Étienne and recognised industrial partners such as Astrée Software, DIWII offers companies of all sizes and digital maturity the opportunity to experiment with the industry of the future through real-life use cases. The technology platform integrates workshops and technologies dedicated to the manufacturing industry, the process industry and healthcare of the future.
Its aim is to support very small businesses, SMEs and ETIs as they evolve to meet the challenges posed by the digitalisation of industry.
Its missions include :
- Testing innovative solutions in 6 demonstration areas
- Facilitating technology transfer
- Supporting digital, energy, environmental, human and organisational transformations
- Offering degree-granting, certificate-granting, tailor-made or short courses
SURFAB platform
Technology platform specialising in laser, additive, subtractive and hybrid processes. It supports industrial companies in their innovation projects through experimentation, training and know-how transfer services.
It is home to the Manutech-USD economic interest group in Saint-Étienne, which runs a demonstration showroom featuring examples of femtosecond laser applications.
